What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The doctrinal convictions that govern every teaching, every book, and every decision of Straight Up Truth Ministry.

Straight Up Truth Ministry is a theologically conservative, evangelical ministry committed to the authority of Scripture and the centrality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The following statement represents the core doctrinal convictions that govern our teaching, our books, and our ministry relationships. We hold these beliefs not as traditions inherited from a denomination, but as convictions drawn directly from the text of Scripture.

01

The Bible

We believe the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final rule of faith and practice for the Christian life. We hold to a literal, grammatical-historical method of interpretation, which means we take the plain meaning of the text seriously, including its prophecies.

02

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in nature, distinct in Person, and united in purpose. God is holy, sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He is the Creator of all things and the Sustainer of all life.

03

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for the sins of all who believe, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return personally and visibly to the earth.

04

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, seals, and sanctifies every believer at the moment of salvation. He is the Author of Scripture and the Teacher of the Word.

05

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not earned by works, merit, or religious performance. The moment a person places genuine faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, they are justified before God, forgiven of all sin, and given the gift of eternal life. This salvation is eternal and secure — it cannot be lost.

06

The Church

We believe the universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have been born again by the Holy Spirit. The local church is the primary expression of that body on earth — a community of believers gathered for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and the proclamation of the Gospel.

07

Biblical Prophecy

We believe the prophetic portions of Scripture — including the books of Daniel and Revelation — are to be interpreted with the same literal, grammatical-historical method as the rest of the Bible. Prophecy that has already been fulfilled was fulfilled literally. Prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled will also be fulfilled literally. We hold to a premillennial, pretribulational eschatology, while recognizing that sincere, Bible-believing Christians hold different views on the details of end-times chronology.

08

The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily, visible return of Jesus Christ to the earth. We believe this return will be preceded by the Rapture of the Church, followed by a seven-year Tribulation period, and culminating in the establishment of Christ's millennial kingdom on earth. We believe in the literal resurrection of the dead — both the just and the unjust — and in the final judgment.

09

Eternity

We believe in the literal, eternal existence of both heaven and hell. Those who have placed saving faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the presence of God in the new heaven and new earth. Those who have rejected Christ will spend eternity separated from God in the lake of fire. We take both realities with full seriousness, and they are the reason this ministry exists.

If you have questions about any of these beliefs, or if you would like to discuss them further before partnering with or hosting this ministry, we welcome that conversation. Theological clarity is not a barrier to relationship — it is the foundation of it.
